Message from the Headmistress

Hear from our Headmistress on what we're doing to support your child during this unprecedented time.

We have put together this booklet as a guide to helping families understand the online learning provision that we have developed and will continue to develop over the coming weeks. This is a new way of working for us all and we know that it will take a little adjusting to by both the teachers and the children. We know that nothing can replace actually being in the classroom with the teachers, or running free in the garden with friends, but we hope that, through our Online Teaching and Learning Programme, the children at St Nicholas Prep will continue to love learning and be challenged.

These are unprecedented times, which can be extremely unsettling not only for our children but for everyone. As well as prioritising children’s physical health as we remain at home, we also need to be looking after their mental health and wellbeing, keeping a sense of normality and daily routine, whilst providing opportunities for them to flourish.

The coming weeks will undoubtedly contain many new challenges; however, we are confident that by working together as a school community, the children will have structure, time to be creative and maintain a happy balance between academic work and play.

We cannot deliver our online provision without your support for which we are truly grateful.
