Lower School

The Lower School is comprised of pupils aged 5 to 7 in Key Stage 1 or Years 1 and 2 of the National Curriculum. There are two classes in each year group, where each class has its own teacher and a class assistant.

The Lower School follows a rich and broadly balanced curriculum which fulfils all the requirements of the National Curriculum, where emphasis is placed on the basic skills of Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Pupils are taught by their class teacher in their own classroom, but with specialist teachers for Music, Art, Physical Education, and French.

Homework is introduced in the Lower School and the amount is gradually increased in the Upper School. This is to establish good study habits from an early age.
