Early Years

The Montessori curriculum is followed from 2 years 9 months to 5 years in the Nursery and Reception classes.

Our Early Years Montessori classrooms aim to promote a calm, relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. Everything is designed to appeal to the child and is sized to facilitate the child's independence and development. Emphasis is very much on children doing things for themselves, learning to take care of their own needs and using the concentration skills they have gained from working without interruption at a chosen task.

In an integrated curriculum we also offer Music, Dance, Art, French and Physical Education, all taught by our own specialist teachers. In our Reception Classes (age 4+) we begin to combine the Montessori curriculum with the Foundation Stage of the National Curriculum.
