CNED
Children at St Nicholas aged between 6 and 11 whose mother tongue is French have the possibility of following a dual programme of English Curriculum and C.N.E.D. Children are registered in an English class according to their age following an English timetable. Five times per week they study the Language and Mathematics programme of their respective classes in France i.e. CP- CE1 - CE2 - CM1- CM2, with a qualified French native-speaking teacher. The programme, textbooks and evaluations are all provided by the CNED (Centre National d'Enseignement à Distance), which is based in Toulouse, France and comes under the French Ministry of Education. This organisation provides certificates that allow transition to the next class. This means that children can return to a French school at the right level.
